Question:

I have a Hikvision NVR/DVR and a IP camera with two sensors. How can i add the second sensor?

Answer:

When adding a multi sensor camera to a Hikvision NVR/DVR. The first time adding it, only the first sensor will be added.

Depending on the model and firmware version of the NVR.To add the second sensor. Follow these steps:

For a DVR or Pro series NVR: (Not a plug n' play model)

  1. Add the first sensor as you normally would
  2. Add the camera a second time using the same IP address.
  3. after filling out the IP, username and password and clicking"add" a small box will appear asking what channel you would like to add. Check off thesecond sensor, or if you have more than two sensore, check off the additional sensors. Then click "ok>

The additional sensors will be added.

For plug n' play NVR's: (Models with built in PoE ports)

  1. After plug n' playing the camera into a PoE port on the NVR.
  2. Choose a port that is not currently being physically or virtually used on the NVR.
  3. Edit that port and set it from "plug n' play" to "manual".
  4. Edit the IP address to be that of the multi sensor camera. enter the username "admin" and the admin password.
  5. There will be a line that may say "Channel" and have a seting number as "1". Change that to "2". Then click "Ok".
  6. Repeat steps 3 through 5 of you have a multi sensore camera with more than 2 sensors, going up in the channel number.

The above process only adheres to Hikvision multi sensor cameras. Hikvision NVR and DVR do not currently support 3rd party multi sensor cameas beyond the fiorst sensor.
