How do I check the network connectivity of a device on the local network using a local windows PC?


To check the network connectivity of the devices on the network using the local windows computer also known as pinging. To ping a device open the command prompt by pressing the windows start menu and typing 'cmd' then select the command prompt. With the command prompt open type the word 'ping' then a space followed by te IP address of the device you want to check the connectivity for. Below is an example of a successful ping:

If the ping fails confirm that the device that you are checking and the computer is on the same network scheme.

If you get a message that states 'the destination could not be reached' means that there is no connectivity to the device
